Lavender Grace Kent

Lavender Grace Kent was raised in Northern California surrounded by artists and musicians. She began performing at the age of 4 and has continued to study and embrace the arts ever since.

Her studies have taken her to: NYC where she studied jazz and world rhythms at the New School for Social Research, The Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow Scotland, and Porto Allegre, Brazil where she took part in community arts project with local film makers and musicians.

Within the medium of music and poetry, stories have the ability to transform into a universal language. This language transcends boundaries of geography, race and gender. Lavender endeavors to sustain our human connectedness within our communities by encouraging cultural exchange, through drum, poetry, song, dance.

Amalgamation of history,
era of blending.
The environment of "Free Music"
Accompanies the "Free Love"
Inception of g-gnomes experimental laboratory chromosomes
Proud new generation, sun kissed
Blossom children
Reinvent Jazz with breath
Each and every
Look from whence folk came
Embrace lyric
Smithy of word
Dig
The Beat
simple Speak
Watch it round
Come

until the ash is incinerate of my bones
that will no longer be of my home

No grave will I resent

No sin will I repent

I will live a full
LIFE

with what time
