Soy una mujer responsible

I'm a responsible woman

en donde crece el cactus

from where the cactus grows.

Y antes de morir quiero

echar mis palabras al viento.

And before I die

I want to release my words to the wind.

Mi verso es lo que sale del alma.

My words come from my soul

y es todo lo que tengo

and it's all that I have.

Te recuerdo, amigo,

con tus ojos negros,

con esa chispa de alegría dentro de ellos,

con esa boca,

con esa boca tan suave, tan áspera,

y tan dulce

Te recuerdo, amigo.

Y ahora, los sentimientos

atrapados en mi cuerpo

sin haberte dicho: Te quiero.

es consecuencia de mis malas acciones.

Es tener un corazón dolido.

Y el susurro de las noches

sólo me hace pensar en ti,

mi dulce amigo.

I remember you, my friend,

with your black eyes,

their spark of joy,

that mouth,

that mouth so soft, so harsh,

so sweet.

I remember you, my friend,

And how the feelings

trapped inside my body,

not having told you: I LOVE YOU,

is a consequence of my poor actions.

is having a wounded heart.

And the rustling in the night

Only makes me think of you,

my sweet friend.

Yo vengo del sur,

flor celeste,

del rumbo de espinas

y del colibrí.

Yo vengo del sur,

ese rumbo que vuelve a México.

México es mi país.

Nunca lo olvidaré

porque él me vió nacer

y México me verá morir

en mi tierra deseada.

I come from the South,

celestial flower,

the road of the cactus

and the hummingbird.

I come from the South,

the road that goes back to Mexico.

Mexico is my country.

I will never forget her

because she saw me born

and Mexico will see me die

in my beloved homeland.
