That Something

I’ve
never
written
about
my papa
who
passed away
when
I was
a baby

I never really got to meet him
It’s like when you’re playing in a
basketball game and you really
want water or Gatorade but
you can’t just walk off and
try to find it. It’s like
you’re locked in a closet
and can’t get out
like you’re missing
something that
something in
the back
of your
mind
that something you love.

Bird Lady
inspired by a collage by Ada B. Fine

Speak to the
lady
With the bird
eyes
Speak to the
bird
With the life
of a
lady
Walk with the
forest in
which the
bird lady lives
with the
flowers blooming
in the morning
sun
Sing with the
bird that
whistles a tune
for
the two hands
Dance with
the bird lady.

Untitled

As untitled as a hero
wandering through the wind
blowing through the willow trees
like rain drops racing to my soul.

As untitled as a transparent shield
blocking the storm out of the hermit’s hut.

As untitled as a single book
in a world of ink and parchment.

As untitled as a drop of water
swimming in an aqua pool.

As untitled as a lion’s mane
whispering to its kingdom.

Am I a hero? Am I a willow?
Am I a rain drop? Am I transparent?
I am untitled.

I Will Ride on a Dragon’s Back

I will ride on a dragon’s back
through the valley of Texas on a dragon’s back.

I will ride on a dragon’s back
through a musical instrument that flows through the air
and sounds like a bird sings a song, the songs in summer.

I will ride on a dragon’s back
through the dreams of an angel dreaming
about dancing on top of fluffy clouds and having a good time.

I will ride on a dragon’s back
through the highest mountain I see.

I will ride on a dragon’s back
through the blistering sea when it’s winter.

I will ride on a dragon
through a mountain with crests in it
and shining like the stars in the sky.

I will ride on a dragon’s back
through the world’s crust
and see the beautiful wonder that we all live in
with the blue of the sea and the greens and the browns
for islands that make our home.

I will ride on a dragon’s back
through the future
when time goes by and with things that can happen
any time of the day.

I Will Decide

I will decide when the
red and white chickens will
stand on the rooftops and
cluck in the morning. I will
decide when the passed on spirits
will disappear in the darkness.

I will decide when the
soft bubbles will become as
hard as diamonds in an ice
storm. I will decide when to
let go of all hate behind bars.

I will decide when the
pale white nights will turn
into bright sunny days. I will
decide when the migrating
salmon find their destination.

I will decide.

Life in Nature

I trust in nature
That planets will stay in their orbits
That life will go unchanging
That rivers shall run unhindered
Flowers will go on blooming
Cocoons go on breaking
Trees grow unhindered
Life goes on, in balance

I have seen this
Seen blue rivers rushing by
Seen planets in the sky
Seen the pattern of life
Soft pink primroses
Green cocoons ripping open
Rough bark of old trees, or soft, new,
Life.

[untitled]

I am the earth, all lonely without anyone
The other people are living inside of me
I just hope they can let me be
Global warming is coming, but nobody can hear me.
Everybody hurts me, once they forget about me
Can’t you see?
Take care of me.

The World Awakens

It is the end of
the time when
darkness fills your
mind.

It is the end of
the time the great black
animal of shadow dominates
as the ruler of
everything.

It is the end of
the time of evil.
It is the end of
the maroon dragon’s rest,
for he must protect.

It is the time
when the blue jay sings.
It is the time
when the world awakens.

It is the time
when the great black
beast is gone.
We have peace.
We have safety from
the black night.

In a Fresh Valley of Green

Misty and full of secrets
Shadowy and unclear
Grand and glistening with glowing glory
Tasting of a fluffy cloud
Smelling of fragrant springtime blossoms

Full of life and violet clouds misting
around sunlit granite mountains
In a fresh valley of green
with golden clouds lighting the valley with sun

Yosemite, the place of peace
Your secrets shall be known someday
Your hopefulness will never cease
Your golden land of beauty will stay.
