No Two Snowflakes

Fifty-eight days since he’s been gone
I’ve cried. I’ve cried a few times./ But mostly not.
People say they understand
That everyone deals with things in their own way
I think, perhaps, that no two snowflakes grieve the same
So I’m pale and cold
And like the snowflakes, I fall
But in the falling is beauty
And sometimes peace
And every once in a while, a mittened hand
Is there to catch me
Before I hit the ground.
Fifty-eight days since he’s been gone
And I’ve cried a few times-
No two snowflakes grieve the same-
But I don’t fall alone
Because where there is one snowflake, there are many,
And in a single tear
Resides untold crystalline beauty.

Destiny And Destination

From the moment the sun touches my face,
I know
I’m heading somewhere
Maybe to a place of happiness
Maybe a place of sorrow
All I am certain of
is that it is a place
It is destiny
It is unknown
We must all jump into each day
with curiosity and strength
and then maybe we will
all meet our destinations

Meet my expression
when my voice fails to convey emotions long hidden
Meet my ability
when I think I can’t but I can
Meet my tools
when hammer and nails can’t pick something up

Now look closer
they will perform and dance and draw
they will pantomime my deepest thoughts
though my voice and lips may lie
they will be honest and concentrate my mind
they will act on their own when I’ve told them to rest
Meet my hands
How may they help?

I am impossible
I can’t help being myself
And I can’t help being like others
I am misunderstood
though I just want to be me
I am stuck between a void of confusion
I am a dying star
When I explode, who knows what will happen?
I can give and I can take away
and in an endless environment where anything is capable of infinity
I can do anything
I am unravelled
like a piece of paper thrown in the trash
by nothing more than a confused soul
I’ve become undone
and now I am free
I can re-right my wrongs
I can stop worrying about tomorrow
I can live for today because
I am important
Where I am is what matters the most
I will not worry
I will do as told
But I will change
I am everything and I am nothing
I am like everyone else

I am an ocean
in a spoon
An ark
in the anthole
The Universe
in a pen
A voice
in the noise
An eagle
under the water
A candle
hidden under a bushel

What a beautiful creature
What a beautiful face
Secretly infatuated by the mysteriosity
she wears upon her smile
secretly curious of the life she lives.
Porcelain skin, soft features, doe eyes
filled with wonder...
into her room I crept, her protection I carry
creaking through her door...
She is startled by my presence
for I am wearing a mask, awakened
by my breath. One look and I knew
I had to have it as my own.
The weapon was raised, blood was spilt,
life was taken...I removed my mask
and covered her head...
Blank with expression, I vanished,
wearing my new face.

Pictures, colorful collages, taken from what
we see and desire. We make and cover ourselves
with what we think is perfection.
We see passion, lust, creativity and we want it.
We mask our insecurities with what we see.
We shroud our lives with lies and false personas,
no longer are we innocent,
no longer are we true.
No longer are you yourself,
you are what you see,
you are a mask of insecurity.
