Perfect

You say these people have no soul
These Hollywood dolls so fake and dull
Their fabric is cut from the same old rug
Spun with scandals and glitter
You say the little people never fade
You will think of them when taking you're bow
Its been just a month
And they're not so important to you now
You traded your powder blue eyes for Cole black buttons
You've bartered your skin for a shiny plastic shield
They tell they only want what's best
But its not what they want, when you need a rest
Nothing meant more than the Glamor and Glitz
Your friends don't matter when your putting on the Ritz
Now you're 40 and your fast pace life's winding down
You wear too much makeup
And on the silver screen you look like a morbid clown
Your family's all gone
You have no more respect
But I wonder, was it worth it to be so perfect?

The Media Message

inspired by excerpts from Rolling Stone magazine

National affairs. That’s why the Beatles broke up.
The man with his new fragrance says nonchalantly, this machine kills fascists.
A new way to roll, words to rock by.
Love the bottle, read the bottle:
In an Absolut world, doing things differently leads to something exceptional.
So mellow out, and get serious.
Because inside, it’s a wicked as you are
And outside,
It screams quality.
Listen up, kid: love sucks.
Ch-ch-ch change it. Go glam.
Die, Nazis, die .
Shut up, because now,
The colors of life can last a lifetime.
By the way, Earth called. It says thanks.
Thanks for last night.
The highlight reel.
And the phone sex?
That’s my pleasure
I’m lovin’ it.

Oh Prickled Rose

Oh prickled rose
holy holly leaf
loves death transposed
like razor reef

Cupid’s arrow flies
seeping of irony
piercing earthly ties
illusive destiny

what sin is mine
who made this ugly mess
ripping soul divine
what bitterness

cold, mid-winter day
frozen prickled rose
silent, flowers lay
lay atop curling toes

moonlight sweeps
particles slightly slow
lovers love keeps
wrapped in woe
