I Wonder

Will the people hear the jokes coming from east

where the birds are?

Will the ticking of the clock come from the trees?

Will there be floating mansions

above the green jade ridges of the mountains?

Will the sound of rushing water

stay in those thinker's heads?

Will olive tress grow on Neptune?

Will aliens be our next door neighbors?

I wonder...if these things will happen?

Powering Yourself

Power is having your hands control the whole world

or maybe a lightning bolt scampering across the sky

Power is telling someone to do something and they obey you

power is yelling "SILENCE!" and not hearing anything afterwards

It is being you

Powering yourself

Power...Being a ruler

or turning on a light

Why Are Poppies Orange?

In the time of no civilization,

there was nothing but space and seeds.

One day the first storm of winter

came and bared the seeds.

It rained for days and days.

Finally it stopped.

Flowers bloomed.

They were black and white.

A squirrel came

and painted the flowers orange.

The flower's name is poppy.

I am a Super Hero

I am a super hero.

They call me Rain.

I have many good powers.

I have the power to call bees.

I can change into any color.

I have hair made of rope.

I protect the world from evil.

I have an enemy, who is also my best friend.

Her name is Luna.

Luna means moon.

Sometimes she is good,

and sometimes bad.

She is dark and light.

Good and evil.

Life and death

White and black

Yin and yang

Best friends: Luna and Rain.

In Ten Years

In ten years, I will be a professional airplane pilot.

In ten years, I will be a great surfer.

In ten years, I will be a greater person.

In ten years, I will be a great surfboard builder.

In ten years, I will be a builder helping my parents with the bills.

In ten years, maybe the world will be a better place for everything.

Maybe in ten years from now,

others could play in the crashing waves with the surfers.

Maybe global warming will stop,

and peace will spread over the land.

Diamond white raindrops will fall from blue sky,

and land on Earth. A new, magical world.

Cooling mint winds will splash in my face.

Hawks will not be alone in the sky,

griffins, dragons, and pegaususes fly with them.

With one touch, I will change a puddle to blood

and donate it to blood banks.

There will be no television, computers, or video games,

just books and writing.

With tender hands, gentle and caring,

anyone can create plant life.

I will live in a cave, with a candle and a dragon,

comfortable bed, and household needs.

I will be a nineteen-year-old veterinarian,

and own a restaurant for dogs called Chow-Chow.

All in 2015.

The ocean is like a bridge to a magical

place. When it rains, it rains honey

and when it snows, it snows

sugar. When it drizzles it

drizzles powdered sugar.

The wind of the

ocean   roars

like a tiger

and the sun heats me up like hot chocolate.

The sugar falls like little crystals

and pearls. The rocks of my

beaches are ruby red. At

my beach there is a

zoo and at night

the zoo animals

get loose and

run away

but in

the

morning

they are right there at my beach. My beach

is shaped like a person's head

crying for help. They

are lost on my

abandoned beach

but if they

don't fear it

they will

find

food.

Weirdo Land

An eyeball. A spaceship. A baseball on fire.

A broken window. A flying saucer. A talking shirt.

Floating pajama pants. A fire ball. A heat wave.

Flying pizza. Floating hotdog. A falling cheese burger.

A beat up tomato. A thrown cucumber.

And that's the way my land works.

The Island

I come from an island

an island that does not exist

I come from an island that has mist

as gentle as my grandmother's voice

and an ocean that is as warm

as Hawaii's sun

I dream of my family

I dream that I can fly

fly to another place

I dream that I could ride

the fastest animal in the forest

I come from that island.

I am like silver waves crashing through the water

When you see me you feel safe

The sapphire colored world is my home

My skin is rougher than the roughest rocks

I am a powerful being

My eyes are bluer than the deepest blue

My breed is dying

I must fight so I will leave you know

I will tell you now:

I am the whale.
