Memories of My Life

I remember

I remember the first time I rode a horse

sitting in the leather saddle

on the little pony's back

so smooth and comforting

I remember playing in the golden sun out in the apricot tree

it was like picking stars out of the night sky

I remember tasting sugary donuts

walking down the street feeling that someone was following me

watching me

but no one was there

I remember riding my two wheeler

crashing into walls, getting cuts and scrapes

only to get on again for the same result

I remember watching my mom get hurt

so many times it felt as if I was getting hurt too

so many times my heart stopped hoping it wasn't so bad

I remember when our dog died

seems like so long ago, but it might have been yesterday

he walked right out of my life without saying goodbye

wishing he could come back

I remember building our new house, saying it will be done

tomorrow, next week, month, year

it felt like forever

I remember so many things but can't write them down

they're stuck in my head,   floating

not ready to come out

I remember

So Many Things I Remember

I remember hearing stories about when my great grandpa walked away without a trace

his son was only seven

I remember Easters with my uncle

I remember the day my uncle passed away

I remember remember when my Uncle's father died

and I remember when my mother cried

I remember his face as he lay in the coffin

so covered in makeup he didn't seem like himself

I remember the taste of the sweet grapefruit in my grandma's backyard

I remember waking up in darkness

and not knowing where I was

I remember twelve hour car rides

I remember laying in the sun

I remember so many things

this was only one

Shining

I wish I were a mirror with a thin silver frame

and a big shinning reflective oval

knowing people's secrets

like that patch of discolored skin on their stomach

the amount of cover up they use to hide their imperfections

the color their eyes really are beneath those contacts

what they want to say to the person they love

but will never be able to

how nervous they are about their graduation speech

how much they really hate their "bestfriend"

sitting silently

understanding everything

until I crack in half

and fall apart

with the stress of all the secrets I have to keep

but at least they won't be my own

Chaotic Serenity

Company with purple pansted people

differently similar shoes

boots bursting with feeling and a heart

rollerblades with orange wheels

different people sharing thoughts

talk

talking on grass

sinking into chaos

just colliding into unision

a combination of floating emotions

but some how

we find serenity

Square

In life I feel lost

playing twister

constantly blended

like a primary color in a circle

I'm always protected

but it makes me feel bland

like skin colored lipstick

on my metaphorical white face

a canvas or a vast game of twister

with a million homo sapiens all on their right foot

never venturing to their left foot

but me, I'm different

I like to tango with both feet

I'm always behind them

but if you untangled yourself

if I get your attention

you will see I'm not bland like my white face

I'm not a primary circle

I'm a square

I'm different

A Guy Named Space

Once there was a guy named space

he got very bored

so he made some planets

he made the stars

the moon, Pluto

and the lava red sun

but his favorite planet was Earth

he liked the chestnut brown dirt

the beetle gut blue water

the fiery desert

the camel hump mountains

but his favorite part was the frosty white snow!!!

The Sun Sets Over The Earth

The sun sets over the earth

when it sets the colors burst from the sky

the most magical time of the day

the time of the day that we love

when all the roses are the reddest

when all the flowers are the happiest

when all of the colors of the earth should come out

ladybug red

marigold orange

the butterflies sun gold yellow

the astonishing grass green

and sky bluebird blue

the most amazing indigo

and the pretties violet purple

that bring colors to the sunset

Earth In Colors

Sky blue

flash red

super yellow

wind blue

bleeding orange

flipping black

oozing dark

flashing light

bulging light

flashing speckles

what are those stars?

glowing dots?

what could they be?

The dark earth

black, blue, red

and the steaming hot sun

the freezing   white moon

soon it will be opposite

the sun will be December cold

the moon will be dancing with flames and fire

the ocean will be September warm

the air will be windy cold

the rain will stop

the sun will come out

the fog will go

the arch of the colors will come

Beautiful Earth

big and blue

round and wild

spinning and dancing

through the night

your dress is ocean blue

and snowy white

desert orange covered with clouds

tropical green

stars and flowers in between

so many colors on the earth

I am so lucky

so lucky to live

on the earth

so lucky to live on the earth!

Drifting Alone

I wish I were a cloud

drifting alone in the sky

no priorities or goals

no promises of world peace

not much a cloud can do

in its short life

clear foggy cotton candy

alone in the sky

losing pieces of myself

as I go farther

not much you can do

when you are a cloud in the sky

Wise Tree

I wish I were a winding tree

fresh violet leaves in the breeze

limbs swaying

a home for a squirrel

chipmunk

beehive

I would taste like soft earth

smell like fresh rain

sweet sap

rough wood

purple blossoms

float on water

bearing juicy plums

wise as wind

upon a golden plain

The Sound of a Tinkling Stream

Listen to the stream

the magical stream of life

alive, flowing, growing

as it lightly tiptoes across

the rich healing dirt and the fresh green plains

the ferns drooping off the mossy bank

into the rushing water

dead leaves splashing

throughout the small waterfall

hear the tinkling of living nature

as the strong soaking stream

carefully moves down the land

look at the crisp green, fresh moss

as it grows on the water's banks

smell the fresh, new flowing liquid

as it carefully moves

across healthy mother earth

Talking Cats

I remember thinking that cars on the freeway

were all connected by one tiny clear string, maybe plastic

and if you pulled the string all the cars would stop

I remember wanting to jump up on the clouds

bounce around on their puffy whiteness

I remember my best friend in preschool

up on stage with the rest of the class during the Christmas concert

not singing, but leaving her mouth open

like a statue

I remember when I was going to bed

and heard a broken "hello" outside my window

I was scared to look out

so I asked my parents to

it was a stray cat

I remember reading a long book

feeling so proud

until the next month I read an even longer book

then I thought how weird I was to be proud of the short little book

I had been so proud of before

I love my memories
