If Stars Were Fish
Wendy's purple and pink octopus is standing in the pool, feeling great
Jose's red, back, green and purple octopus is swimming in hot water, feeling great
Gaby's purple red and yellow funny fish is diving in the blue water, feeling good
Saul's blue green blue shark is eating starfish in the ocean, feeling good and hungry
Celeste's pink starfish is floating on rocks in the ocean, feeling excited
Nate's green squid is doing nothing
but swimming around in the morning time ocean, feeling happy
Fabian's red, back, blue and brown snapper is swimming slow in the white water
Guermillo's black, yellow, green, red, brown and purple snapper is swimming fast
upside down because he's looking for food in the hot lava water
feeling good, like when he plays
Priscilla's pink and red squid is floating in Kaui, feeling happy
Evelyn's blue, red and purple dolphin is dancing under the water, feeling happy
Maria's purple and black with blue eyes dolphin is eating ocean grass, feeling full and good
Hunter's red, pink, yellow, green, purple, orange, black and brown swordfish
is flipping out to the water and doing back flips through the fire
feeling happy, like a bowl of ice cream
Claudia's pink underneath fish is looking at a horse in the water
they are talking about swordfish, feeling happy in the water
Kyle's green squid is jumping up to the sky and getting electrocuted
then falling back in the ocean, feeling good like a pig swinging
Daniel's green, orange, and blue-eyed green green squid is swimming around and he opens his mouth
and throws fire to kill all the fish
his eyes stretch all the way up to the hot sky
he is feeling pretty hot because he killed the fish
when he goes back down to the water he feels cold
Acea's green with a brown tail and fins and a purple mouth salmon
is doing nothing, feeling confused
Bryan's blue inside, green-tailed with extra blue and yellow, black and blue eyed fishie
is swimming around in the shower
he wants potato chips and is feeling good, that's all!
Omar's purple green squid is making guns so he can kill fish to eat
he is living in a cave, feeling happy because he is bad
Favi's flying green squid with a little bit of yellow and blue eyes
stretches his eyes up the sky because he has big eyes that want to eat the stars
and his mouth can reach the sky to eat them
he throws purple flames, feeling good
Raymond's black, purple, green, yellow, brown and yellow killer fish eats girls
he chomps on them then wiggles around and hides so no one can catch him

We are Mrs. Henley's Kindergarten Class
We are quiet, wild, sleepy, playful
We love drawing really good
playing with toys, especially blocks and tigers
we love to practice basketball and exercise
We love saying the alphabet and counting
We feel sad when people are mean
we feel loving when we are learning
and we always will be good
because we need to be good and say yes to learning
We need to stop saying bad words
and share books and toys and dinosaurs
We give people birthday presents and a chance
we give our hearts, because we will always have an angel heart
We are afraid of monsters, too much alcohol
bigger kids who might give us wedgies
or that a tornado may come to our school
or someone would shoot us
We would like to see French fries and a funny clown
scary movies, hamburgers
a princess wearing blue, white and pink
We want to see a rabbit going into a magic hat
a goldfish in a tank who jumps out of the water and breathes air
we want to see wild horses running
We are residents of Point Arena, Gualala, the Sea Ranch
and Eureka Hill Road

We are Mrs. Stornetta's 1 st Grade ClassWe are good, noisy and sometimes really quiet
like when we take a test
We love playing at the park in Point Arena
and at Bower Park in Gualala
we love hangman
workshop games like rhyming words
bird, curd, nerd
we love recess and parties
with vanilla and chocolate ice cream
cookies and milk and strawberries
we feel sad and happy when we do math
we feel creative during arts and crafts
and especially good when we play with friends
we feel like crying when we get hurt
and proud when we get 100 percent on our tests
we feel mad when someone pushes or hits
We need pencils when we do poetry
and our erasers when we mess up
we need water to keep us hydrated
energy for running and learning
we need a teacher too
(good thing we have one!)
we need work to do
air to breathe
We give pencils and presents to other students (like Santa Claus)
we give care, love and candy on Valentines Day
we help each other during workshop time
and give get well soon cards when people are sick
We fear boys with footballs, getting in trouble by the principle
the ground opening up and making a big crack, so big that we all fall in
we are afraid of an earthquake during school hours
big kids running toward us, bees at lunchtime
We want to see Blake do a trick.

We are the green pickles, snails and diamond back rattlesnakes
