They Watch Me
I am the monkey who swings all over
In a small box, I am confined
They watch meI am the ancient one
They call me Bud
They watch meI am the ancestor of them all
They think I'm a person too
They watch meI search for the center of freedom
Outside the bars
They watch meThe heart of my trainer
She loves me for myself
Three meals a day
Don't have to search for prey
The watch meI am the sight
The people who come to the zoo
they watch me.Alicia

Our Future
We came in many colors and shapes
With different faces
And different ways of speaking
Our thoughts soared to the stars
Yet our feet walked the earth
We possessed many powers
We were strong, yet tender
We were the heart of the past and hope of tomorrow
A message of love from God to Earth
And a prayer from Earth back to God
But we forgot that we were
A message of love
And a prayer from Earth
And we began to argue
About who knew God
And who did not
And where God was
And was not
And whether God was
Or was not
And often we misused our powers
And hurt one another
But after a long lonesome time
We began to hear
And listen
And see God in one another
And in the beauty of all EarthJannaliese

You were the one to give me life
At the Ukiah HospitalIn your eyes
I saw your inner beautyIn my mind
You were dancing in the wind
Like a petal in the breezeYou touched my
heart
With your caring living voiceMy feelings flow like
The river
On a rainy day when water is rapidI heard
Your voice in the windI remember
You were afraid
You came to meYour voice
Gives me chills
When you yell at meI see you
Smile
When I make a jokeI am
Amazed
By your great knowingSelena

Me
Water in the ground
whispering from one place to another
changing through the water cycle like words
from a leader's mouth
strong, fierce, sure and promisingEmotions fall over hard, cold rocks
moving to the sea of life
looking for peace
hoping for change
and making it happenThe sun gives energy to earth
and powers the universe full of unknowing emptiness
assumptions, love, hate, confusions, disappointments
emotions, pains, happiness, personalitiesHot oil runs through me
powers me, strengthens me
yet weakens meThe solar system flows like blood
through my veins

The Early Morning
A beautiful roaring,. rushing river
on a stormy, rainy nightMoves like sugary molasses as it
climbs slowly up the steep mountains. The sound scares a baby bob cat
as it plays very fierce and clumsyWooooosh!
The air force 1 goes very fast because
it is late for a meeting with the Pope
also with hs past ancestorsHow great is the constant movement
of a windmillAlso the great unknown where there are
black holes, comets and so much
we haven't learned aboutThe solar system is like an
unstoppable movement factoryJust like the powerhouse next to my house
it keeps moving and churningHailey
