Thoughts on the Life of a Fox

I am sitting here alone with my thoughts.
My hair flows with the wind of a cool breeze.
My snout pointing upwards toward the sky is pondering my life.
My tail, slowly wags with thoughts of my joy.
My eyes, releasing tears with thoughts of my sorrow.
My ears, half perked with thoughts of my fear.
A scar across my chest, burning with thoughts of my pain.
A fox named Grant Blackwell.

Little

A bird perched
Leaps from a cold iron fence
Whoosh! Little wing flapping.

This Is My Anthem

This is my anthem.
It is chaos,
Harmonious Discard.
I sing - From the heart
From experience.
Nothing - Is meaningless,
Every note - resonates,
My voices above the rest
Because this, - This is my life,
My story.
The lyrics are my own, - The melody is unique
My fingers are ink-stained,
My eyes bloodshot
I’ve spent my whole
Life searching for the words
Of this song - That is me.

Suffering

I got home so late
I had so much work
I was caught in an awkward moment
But I have never known suffering
I fell and scraped my knee
I told a joke that did not inspire laughter
I struggled for answers on my exam
But I never known suffering
Never have I teetered between life and death
Never have I had to live unloved
Never have I faced utter abandonment
This is the suffering so many confront
Dare complain about my lost homework?
Dare I take for granted this life I lead?
Dare I let my conflicts overshadow my endless joy?
My self pity must stop for I do not suffer

Fear

Without Fear,
There can be no Courage,
No Bravery,
Because Courage and Bravery exist for Fear.
Without Darkness,
There can be no Light,
No Warmth,
Because Light and Warmth
feed on Darkness.
Without Hatred,
There can be no Victory, No Triumph,
Because Victory will Triumph over Hatred.
Without Oppression, There can be no Resistance, No Hope,
Because Hope is the Resistance to Oppression.
And when you are gone, I become Afraid,
I can see the Darkness,
I can feel the Hatred,
And I'm crushed by the Oppressor.
But when you are here, I find my Courage,
I relive my Bravery,
Darkness is replaced by Light,
Coldness is replaced by Warmth,
I Triumph over Hatred,
I seize Victory from the jaws of defeat,
I become Hopeful, And Resist the Oppressor.
You are my Courage, my Bravery,
You are my Light, my Warmth,
You are my Victory, my Triumph,
You are my Resistance, my Hope,
You are my Life, my Love,
You are my GRANDFATHER.

I Can’t

I can’t think of a poem.
I can’t touch a chicken.
I can’t pass Ag. Biology.
I can’t feel thoughts.
I can’t try any more.
